I {heart} deadlifts.
I’ll do any sort of deadlift, or a front squat, over a back squat any day. I mean, talk about functional since, in every day life, you are more apt to have to lift a weight in front of you versus behind you (kids, furniture, boxes).
I’m with you, I’d rather (barbell) deadlift than squat any day of the week!
Oooo great post Amy! I am a big fan of both deadlifts and squats. I’ve only done deadlifts with a barbell though… I will have to venture out of my comfort zone and incorporate the use of dumbbells into my leg training this week. Amen!
In the far distant reaches of my brain I could hear this low chant (it was a chant b/c i just left Heather’s meditation post) that said, “Jodi, someone’s talking about your favorite exercise.” For a moment, I was confused and didn’t know what it meant…then I read the title of your post.;o)

Heather, such a good point about front squats! I actually did OH squats today – of course along w/ my DL.
Joanna, I’m w/ you, I prefer BB to DB for the DL. But Kristina, you should still def. try the DB DL. Its different.
