Our athlete of the week is on the run—the run of a lifetime that is!

Ashely Kumlien is running across the United States as we speak in order to raise awareness and money for Multiple Sclerosis. She’s running over 20 miles a day 5-7 days a week. No small feat.

What are you training 4? Just finished training for a half marathon and hope to train for a fall half.

What is the best nutrition or training tip you’ve ever been given? Eat from the ground.

Tell us about your most memorable athletic achievement. My first half marathon March 2005. I never believed I was capable of completing one.

I am not a trendsetter but one of the trends I love seeing is how empowered women athletes have become. They are becoming more and more educated about their sport and their sports nutrition. Kind of like you — you wouldn’t be reading MP4 if you weren’t hungry for information to help you become a better, faster, stronger, hotter athlete, now would you?

Let’s give it up for…

The MP4 Athlete of the Week: Jen Miller

If we asked your coach or training partner to list three words that describe you they would be: Driven, and passionate, high energy.

What are you training 4? I’m training to become the best cyclist in my age bracket. I would love to compete whether it be time trials or distance racing. We are also traveling to France this summer. We are taking a 10 day cycling tour around the Alps to southern France. Looking forward to an opportunity to ride in the mountains.

What is the best nutrition or training tip you’ve ever been given? Best Nutrition — Peanut butter slabbed on a banana before, during and afterward. AND best training tip comes from one of the guys we ride with: If you want to ride faster, RIDE FASTER!

Tell us about your most memorable athletic achievement. Two come to mind, running a half marathon on my 25th birthday and completing a century ride.
